Is this SRT translator really free?

Yes. Translation runs in your own browser against a free machine-translation endpoint, so we have no per-file costs to pass on. No account, no watermark, no daily quota from us.

Are my subtitle files uploaded to your server?

No. The file is parsed locally in your browser and only the text lines are sent directly from your browser to the translation engine. The .srt file itself never touches our servers.

Which formats are supported?

SRT and VTT input. You can download the result as either .srt or .vtt, and optionally as bilingual subtitles that keep the original line above the translation.

How accurate is the translation?

It uses the same engine family as Google Translate: very good for mainstream languages and everyday dialogue, weaker for slang, honorifics and idioms. For publish-quality subtitles, machine-translate first, then review — or use a paid tool with human review, which we compare in our best-of guide.
