FAQ

What is the difference between SRT and VTT?

SRT is the older, simplest subtitle format (comma as the millisecond separator). WebVTT (.vtt) is the web-native format required by HTML5 video players and platforms like Vimeo — it uses a dot separator and starts with a WEBVTT header, and supports styling cues.

Does conversion change my subtitle timing?

No. Timestamps are converted 1:1 between formats. Only the separator (comma vs dot) and the file header change.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is sent over the network.
